WEEK 3: GRAMMAR CHECKING TOOLS

Salam Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslims who're reading my post! Today I'm gonna talk about Turnitin and Grammarly! We must have been familiar with these three precious tools as they are considered as favourable tools among students and researchers.

First and foremost, let's talk about Grammarly. Grammarly is an application that helps with grammar, spelling and usage, wordiness, style, punctuation and even plagiarism. In 2019, Grammarly came up with a new feature called "Tone Detector". This feature helps us to convey the right tone in our writing and hence increasing user's confidence in their writing.

Next is Turnitin! Turnitin is an application that allows us to check written assignments for plagiarism from public online sources as well as its own database of student work. It also checks spelling and grammar errors. All these three features work together, all at once which is time-saving especially for students that got tons of assignments to do with deadlines. But, this application lacks the "tone detector" that grammarly has.

So apparently, as for me, I prefer finalising my writing  using Turnitin before pasting into Grammarly for proofread purposes before submitting them to lecturers. This is because these two tools have their own specialities. I can't say which tools are better because Turnitin is superior in terms of checking plagiarism however Grammarly is more superior in checking for grammatical errors. I conclude that Grammarly is the best grammar checking tools for students to check their works or assignments! It's easy and very student friendly.

I think… that’s it for now. Thank you for reading!
